Chicken Cacciatore Revisited

I used oregano from Italy compliments of Marie Helene & Antonio, dried mushrooms and Mike's wine. Lovely meal on shut in week...cattatorie, polenta, Mike's chocolate, almond, blood orange biscotti and wine. Good stimulus for puzzle making! ❤️
During troubled times it is likely that our ancestors turned to foods that not only nourished the body but comforted the soul. These are those kind of days (March, 2020). Just as the world shuts down due to a world-wide pandemic, there are many who have stocked their freezers with chicken from past sales. One of our family favorite comfort foods is Chicken Cacciatore which just recently Mike and Theresa prepared in a crock pot. They have shared photos of their fixings and dinner in hopes to inspire you to revisit this warm and wonderful recipe.
